Hello my friends,

First of all, thank you so much for your support!  It means the world to me to read your comments, messages and e-mails. I thought it would be helpful to recap some of the key messages (or let’s call it memorable moments?) from the first ten blog posts.

1. Do you remember our hunt for longevity?  The answer was to live longer by moving to the sea ….just kidding, but laughing more and loving more! Anything that makes you smile throughout the day…be it your morning cappuccino, making a joke with a colleague or taking a walk in the sunshine. Those positive emotions are magic in “healing” our body and mind. (Stress: Beauty Or Beast?)

2. Let’s be more giving, doing something extra, helping others: but without letting anyone cross our boundaries!  Let’s learn to say no when we feel overwhelmed, stop being everybody’s darling. (People Pleasing – When Being “Too Nice” Starts Ruining Your Life)

3. Find what works best for coping with your everyday or chronic stress: addressing and changing that stressor; your reaction to it, or your way of regenerating from stress. (Coping With Stress – Three Simple Strategies

4.. Let’s find more meaningful purpose in our lives instead of hunting for happiness. (The Pursuit Of Happiness – Is It Making Us More Depressed And Burned Out?)

Isn’t life wonderful?

5. Accept and celebrate what makes you different – even if it’s a lack of concentration or your extreme love of structure. Your “fault” may be a blessing for something else. A lack of concentration can mean an enthusiasm for new ideas; a need for structure can help you in planning your days with the appropriate routines. (Neurodiversity – becoming the new normal?)

6. Let’s support all the superwomen in our life! Those caring, hard-working, driven women, do we celebrate them enough and see their immense contribution? (The Superwoman: Doing It All And Not Complaining – Why Women Are Under More Pressure Than Ever)

7. Rest less – or at least find meaningful ways of resting and regenerating. Open that window of tolerance so that things get easier, and create memories you will look back on fondly later in life. (Restless? Or rest less?)

8. Trust your gut when it comes to social interactions. If possible, spend less time with people who don’t make you feel good. Don’t waste your time if your unconscious signals that there is no mutual sympathy.  On the other hand, strengthen those social bonds with people who make you feel good! (The Way You Make Me Feel: Why Do Seemingly Nice People Leave Us Feeling Uneasy?)

9. Love your stressful life! Stress is what makes your life beautiful. Accept and work with those negative emotions. Burn now, relax later. (Turning Stressors Into Motivators: Burn, Don’t Burn Out)

10. And finally – remember that we are social animals. Find your balance of social interaction and social bonds. You are not alone – we are all in this together! (The Corona Pandemic – How Has It Changed Us?)

Stay tuned for next week,  where we will start off into a mini series on negative emotions.

Take care – and take charge!

It’s me Jules, your biggest fan
